2025 Health & Safety Statistics for Great Britain

 

The HSE recently released its 2025 Health & Safety Statistics for Great Britain. The figures highlight the ongoing challenges faced by workplaces:

  • 1.9 million people living with a work-related illness
  • 964,000 cases of stress, depression or anxiety
  • 511,000 musculoskeletal disorders
  • 2,218 mesothelioma deaths linked to past asbestos exposure (2023)
  • 124 workers killed in work-related accidents
  • 680,000 injuries reported via the Labour Force Survey
  • 59,219 injuries reported under RIDDOR
  • 40.1 million working days lost due to illness and injury
  • £22.9 billion estimated cost of poor working conditions (2023/24)
